probably related to dreary
Good morning as the rain is frizzling all around. Wait, is frizzle even a word?
fry or grill with a sizzling noise...actually drizzle...
[light rain falling in very fine drops. probably based on Old English dreosan [to fall,] of Germanic origin; probably related to dreary.]. I digress though.
So it is another work week and all is full with rain this day and rain. My socks are wait. I always hate it when I start the day with wet socks. What can you do though? I did enjoy the weekend though. Yesterday, Michael and I cleaned the computer room and we were quite impressed with the outcome. We took many breaks so as not to wear out ourselves. So the room looks great now. We ate homemade Eggplant Parmesan while watching an episode of
Noah's Arc. In one scene, Noah is trying to figure out if this guy he likes is gay (Wade) based on his apartment (i.e. cd collection, movies, books, etc.) So I begin thinking about my apartment and what I have. I have a poster of the periodic table hanging behind my desk, a display of Pixar toys on a shelf, and most of my books are geared towards mathematics and science. So what reading would I get?
What else should I mention this morning? Oh yes, I have decided to learn Latin in addition to learning Japanese and French. While riding the bus to work, I read about the verbs and the concept of aspect...a grammatical category or form that expresses the way in which time is denoted by the verb. So the perfect tense (or what is known as the past tense) is actually considered in the present timeline because as of right now the emphasis is in the fact that the action has been completed (as in he went to the store). It is fun to learn and it is yet another foray for me to continue my study of linguistics.

angry wrists should not type, but should they sparkle?
My right wrist has been bothering me all weekend long. Well most of Saturday. It calmed down on Sunday, but this morning, it was back to being bothersome again. I must have slept on it wrong somehow. I shall keep it by itself today and type with one hand. It is actually quite fun to let my other hand glide over the keys as I find the right words to express my inner thoughts. Using the mouse is a bit of a challenge though. I should have worn a brace for my wrist.
I watched
Twilight for the first time this weekend and I actually liked it. I know that it was a bit of a slow pace, but it kind of fit the whole mood of the movie. Lots of pale blue scenery and an abundance of rain. I am still baffled by the fact that the vampires will sparkle in the sunlight with nifty sound effects. I suppose I should read the books and then watch the newly released
New Moon. Then I can get a better feel for the series.

sunday morning bliss
Sunday mornings are usually very calming for me. The quiet nature is soothing. The sun is in the sky. The cats are sprawled out on the floor. I gave the guinea pigs a carrot to keep them quiet. I'm sipping on grape juice spiked with ginger ale. Last night, Michael and I had a few people over for game night. We played Sorry. The game ended with no clear winner as we really did not play by the rules. My sister and her fiancé had to leave. Jeremy and I made a stop at the local wine store. I was a little toasted so the night seems to be a blur. It reminds me of one of those dreams I normally have where I am having a great time, but since my mind is all foggy, I am not all quite there. A few minutes after returning from the store, I went to bed. Now I sit here in reflection of the evening and the weekend.
Sunday mornings are always great because they serve as a mid point to everything else it seems...a point to relax and breath and take in the events of the past week and think about the upcoming week. Earlier this morning, I watched the
Mt. Head. In a few minutes, I shall watch
Das Rad. Both were nominated for the Academy Award for Animated Short Film in 2003. A beautiful morning for relaxation and calmness.

dreaming in French
I had an interesting dream this morning. I was at some sort of cafe with Michael. I went to the counter to pay for the meal we just ate. While at the counter, the two cashiers were speaking in French. I did not understand what they were saying. As I was filling out the receipt, I kept writing the wrong number and so I had to constantly erase and rewrite. While I was in the midst of writing on the receipt, the two cashiers left and then another two cashiers showed up (the first two were male and this second pair were female). They spoke in French. Then the other two cashiers came back to replace the second pair of cashiers. This time, they spoke a few words in English before returning to their conversation in French. I asked them how did they learn English. I told them how I know a little French and I said, "Je m'appelle Timmy" (if memory serves me). Then the alarm clock woke me from going any further than that. I always enjoy it when I have dreams where people are speaking foreign languages. If only I knew what they were saying. C'est la vie.

an attempt at catching up
Good morning. I went outside to look at the stars, but I only saw Jupiter and that was barely for it was somewhat cloudy. I have noticed the growing population of slugs that congregate by the side of my apartment. I suppose the cool evenings do not bother them. I find snails and slugs fascinating. My aquarium is full of snails. They have been reproducing rapidly. Michael and I plan on getting some assassin snails to keep the population under control. It will be neat because then there will be a variety of snails in the tank thus adding to the variety of life in the aquarium.
This morning I grabbed my umbrella before leaving the apartment. It was cloudy. I did not want to be caught outside if it rains. I checked the forecast and there is a chance of rain sat for tomorrow. After then, days of very little cloud cover and lots of sunshine.
I should have updated my journal for the last portion of the week. There were two major shootings...on Wednesday, an MTA bus pulled into the parking lot of a gas station with police vehicles around...earlier that day, a body was found in a burning dumpster at an apartment complex. Strange news all around.
I think that will be all for now. I must begin work.

waltzing through the evening
i feel exhausted, but exhausted in a good way though. After work, I walked around Walmart and was very shocked to see that it was nearly dark when Michael and I left for PetSmart. We ate dinner at Marinas on the Square. The food was wonderful as usual. It was dark when we arrived home. I checked the mail and saw an advertisement for World Market. Their food section makes me think of the Whole Foods in Nashville. We watched an episode of
How I Met Your Mother and then I went outside to star gaze. It has become a new thing for me to do in the evenings. Jupiter is in the sky along with Vega and others. So many...I feel so exhausted. Words cannot fully explain the day I had. I shall go to bed now and get some rest. Goodnight.

a special, delicate creation
i enjoyed going outside to gaze up at the stars. Actually I spotted the moon and Jupiter with no problems and using a star guide, I was having great difficulty trying to figure out the rest and then I pointed out Vega followed by Deneb and Altair. Later I went outside and was quickly able to point out the Pleiades and Cassiopeia. I enjoy stargazing. Michael made me hot cocoa and I sat outside on my favorite blanket (decorated with stars and other objects in the sky) drinking hot cocoa and enjoying my lovely evening. It was ten years ago that I first studied Astronomy. So it makes perfect sense for me to enjoy stargazing. Wow! Life is very interesting, isn't it? Anyhow, I should be in bed now. It is getting late and I have to wake up early for work. I am tempted to go back outside to take one more quick look at the stars. I am obsessed. I know.
